PT Bitratex Industries
A stitch in time saves
nine, discovered PT Bitratex Industries, an
established textile company in Indonesia. Since the implementation
of Solomon Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solution at two of its
plants in Jakarta and Semarang, BT Bitratex has benefited in more
ways than one.
Before implementing
Solomon IV ERP software, PT Bitratex relied on an in-house
accounting system which could not be optimized to manage for
integrated accounting functions. Some of the core accounting tasks
had to be performed manually.
We zeroed in on
Solomon IV as we were impressed with its customization and
flexibility in terms of meeting our needs,” Vijay added.

In addition,
Vijay was impressed with the strong local support provided by PT
Graha TechnoSoft Informatika, Solomon’s Value-Added Reseller.
“As our business grew, it became more
time-consuming to perform these tasks manually,” commented Vijay
Badheka, General Manager, PT Bitratex Industries. “There was a
pressing need to automate some tasks to cope with increasing
workload.”
To increase
productivity, PT Bitratex decided to upgrade to an advanced business
management system that was more powerful and flexible. It
successfully made the transition to automation with the
implementation of Solomon IV’s Financial and Distribution Series at
its both Jakarta and Semarang plant.
Vijay stressed, “One of the key components
we looked for before we decided on Solomon business and financial
applications was how easily these applications can be expanded and
over different locations.”
Solomon IV provides
Bitratex with reliable and efficient financial reporting, order
processing, payment, inventory tracking and cost control. The
flexibility provided by Solomon IV allows Bitratex to customize and
develop a vertical modules specifically for yarn and textile
industries as well as for its logistics and export/imports
requirements.
Bitratex implemented
Solomon IV for a total of 39 concurrent users of the following
modules: System Manager, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Cash
Manager, Currency Manager, General Ledger, Inventory, Purchasing,
Order Management, Customization Manager and Visual Basic Rapid
Development.
PT
Matahari Kahuripan Indonesia
Since acquiring Solomon IV, the Makin Group
has been enjoying increasing cost and time savings. Its new
accounting software, designed exclusively for Microsoft BackOffice
technologies, enables automated inter-company transactions, and
accelerated reporting and user response time. Microsoft SQL Server
7.0 provides the horsepower for this scalable solution that has
opened up major growth opportunities for the Group.
The Makin Group comprises a group of
companies whose core business is in palm oil plantation. The
companies operate in East and Central Indonesia. The holding company
of the Group is PT Matahari Kahuripan Indonesia, which was
established in 1993.
Before acquiring Solomon IV, the Makin Group
was using an in-house, DOS-based application that was hard to
maintain and required substantial IS support services. The
application was installed separately at each office location. As a
result, the financial data had to be consolidated into a centralized
database every month, and the information was always outdated.
Furthermore, the software could not be modified to meet the Group's
current and future needs. The Group required a Microsoft-based
system that could be integrated with multiple systems and offered
strong consolidation capabilities. Overall, the Makin Group was
looking for a global business solution that encompassed business
functionalities, customizable product features, and consultants who
could implement the system.
Solomon's value-added reseller in Indonesia,
PT Graha Technosoft, took four months to implement the following
modules: General Ledger, Multi-Company, Accounts Payable, Accounts
Receivable, Cash Manager, Currency Manager, Purchasing, Inventory
and Advanced Financial Report Extender.
Makin Group has enjoyed wide-ranging
benefits from ease of deployment, modification and acceptance, to
lower total costs of ownership. Other advantages are increased
productivity, reliability and data accuracy, as well as
substantially faster reporting and user
response time. Since the Group set up a centralized financial and
purchasing system in Jakarta, the expenses and maintenance costs
have also decreased considerably. Now it is more convenient and
efficient to manage and maintain the system from a single location.
Users at any branch office outside Jakarta can easily run the
application via satellite. Furthermore, Solomon IV's modular design
makes for easy customization and provides an ideal platform for
future applications. The software can be adapted to meet the
specific requirements of the Makin Group's business activities in
the short and long term.
